In the cast iron industry, a certain amount of inoculant is basically added to the molten iron before pouring the molten iron to change the solidification process of the molten iron and improve the as-cast structure. So as to improve the performance of castings, the castings are more perfect. So what is a free flow inoculant and what are the advantages of an inoculant? Let's take a look below.
The flow inoculant, that is, the inoculant with relatively small particle size (0.2-0.8mm), enters the molten iron with the flow of molten iron through the feeding equipment, and plays the role of inoculation.
Advantages of gestation with the flow
Compared with the traditional multiple inoculation process in the package, the flow inoculation has a unique advantage in the current casting production process. First of all, it is the advantage of the inoculant added amount. The inoculant dose added by the flow method is generally 1/3 of the inoculant dose added by the inverted method; secondly, the flow inoculation can greatly prevent the adverse effects of the inoculation decline on the casting; Finally, follow-up inoculation can maximize the use of graphitization expansion to self-feed the castings.
The following inoculation process improves the nucleation ability of gray cast iron to a higher level, and the risk of defects such as shrinkage and whiteness in the molten iron after incubation is significantly reduced.
Inoculation with flow is an efficient and energy-saving inoculation method. The narrower the particle size range of the flow inoculant (0.2-0.8mm), the more beneficial it is to increase the absorption rate of the inoculant. As the Si content changes, the melting point and effect of the inoculant will change. Please adjust it according to actual needs.
